This song was easy to make.

I started it by putting my ego down. No flexing. No proving anything. Just honesty.

I found myself admitting something I didn’t always understand growing up, my pops was right. Not letting me be outside like that wasn’t control. It was protection.

At the time, I didn’t see it. But Now I do.

This record is reflective of my upbringing the tension, the lessons, the growth. But it’s also bigger than me. It’s about the future. About the kind of foundation we set for the next generation.

Because sometimes what feels like restriction is really love in disguise.
